A man is jailed for killing cat in a tumble dryer!! =O

A Bolton man who caused 'horrendous suffering' to his ex-wife's cat by putting it in a tumble-dryer has been jailed for six months and banned from keeping animals for life. Philip Gannon, 42, was found guilty of cruelly ill-treating a male white English short-haired cat, called William. He had bought William when he was a kitten as a present for his wife. The court heard how Mr Gannon had threatened to kill him after the couple split up. Deliberate act of cruelty RSPCA chief inspector, Cathy Hyde said: "What this man did was horrific. It was a deliberate act of cruelty, the aim of which was to cause maximum distress to his ex-wife. The cat's welfare was of no significance to him. It was simply a tool he used to inflict as much pain as possible on her." Mr Gannon's ex-wife discovered some of William's remains inside her tumble dryer in January 2005. She contacted the police, who then notified the RSPCA. Another part of William's body was found thrown over a fence at the bottom of the garden. "We had to take the tumble dryer apart to get William out. There was hardly anything left of him. He'd literally been cooked alive in the tumble-dryer's revolving drum," said chief inspector Hyde. The post-mortem showed damage to William's claws where he'd tried to hang on. Mr Gannon applied for bail, but was turned down. He has lodged an appeal.
